In addition to looking to other websites for ideas, use the search engine suggestions as to other related searches you might try, and see who is ranking highly there. Again, you might find some really interesting sites which are very niche specific. (Some pronounce it NITCH, and some KNEE-sh). Again, your niche is the difference between Weddings, Wedding planning, wedding favors, edible wedding favors and cookie wedding favors.

All of these are niches, but if you drill down and be very specific, chances are you will get more traffic. For a large site, such as Johns Hopkins, they have about 20 niches, but within the high blood pressure niche there can be multiple other niches, such as high blood pressure, low blood pressure, blood pressure monitors, lifestyle measures to lower high blood pressure, stroke, ischemic stroke, hemorragic stroke, and so on. You get the idea.

Try to come up with very well-written clear, keyworded pages and metatags. The page does not have to be long, but it does need to be specific. The ratio of keyword to overall text helps the search engines determine that this relevant page that their browsers will be interested in.

Try to use the keyword in the name of the page. Make sure if you have any illustrations, you also use your keywords in the name of the picture, and in the alt and title tags.
